Love Your Library Contest Rules

Submission Guidelines:

  1. The Love Your Library Contest is open to individual interpretation, although all written or recorded submissions must reflect the appreciation for the library you love.
  2. Each written or recorded submission is not limited to length. The following questions may serve as general guidelines; however, participants are encouraged to submit stories from any angle.
    1. What do you love about your library?
    2. What programs/staff have made an impact on your life?
    3. How has the library helped you reach a goal?
    4. What aspects of your library do you find helpful?
  3. Stories may be submitted about any library in any country, although only submissions in English will be considered.
  4. Participants must be 18 years of age or older at the time of registration.
  5. Participants may write about any library in their life, from past to present. Participants do not have to be a member of a library to submit a story.
  6. Entrants may submit as many stories as they like, although only one story by any individual may win an award.
  7. All contact information will be kept confidential and will only be used to contact contest winners.
  8. By entering this contest, you grant Sirsi Corporation unlimited permission to share your photo, story, or video on social media or in any other public forum—during any stage of the contest.
  9. No entries may include obscene or offensive images, language, or content of any manner. The inclusion of such content will eliminate a participant from the contest.


  1. The grand prize winner will receive a $100 Visa gift card and $2,000 in SirsiDynix software and services for his or her library.
  2. Ten runner-ups will receive a $25 Visa gift card and a $250 donation to his or her favorite library.
  3. Awards will be given in US dollars or equivalent currency.
  4. All participants are solely responsible for any taxes and will indemnify SirsiDynix for any related tax issues.

Winner selection:

  1. All submissions will be judged on the following criteria:
    1. Grand prize: a grand prize winner will be chosen based on the story that best relates the impact of a library on a participant’s life.
    2. Runner-up prizes: ten runner-up stories will be selected at random.
  2. Contest ends at 11:59 MDT Friday, June 12. Winners will be announced on Tuesday, June 16.
  3. All winners will be contacted through the email address or phone number provided in their form submissions.
  4. If a winner is unable to be contacted after reasonable attempts have been made, SirsiDynix reserves the right to offer a prize to another participant.
  5. SirsiDynix employees and their immediate families are not eligible to win any prize.
